Pickled Onions

I love nearly all things pickled, or fermented. And these pickled red onions are so easy and scrumptious I can’t help but make them a ingredient that needs to be in my home.Always.

Just a quick post! I will soon post a recipe in which you can use these purple beauties.

Pickled red onions:  Makes 2 jars

  • 2 red onions
  • 1 cup apple vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 heaped teaspoons of raw honey
  • Black pepper

In a little sauce pan combine all the ingredients except the onion. Bring to a light boil and remove from heat. Meanwhile slice the onions finely and stuff into the sterilised jars. Pour half the mix over each and cool! Serve on toast with and egg, on your salad, on pizza, or whatever you want.
